Skilled Migration Visas


Australia is in demand for people who are in a highly skilled occupation and can quickly contribute to the economy.

Qualifying factors for skilled migration for you or your partner are:

  • age
  • English fluency
  • qualifications
  • work experience
  • good health
  • character

Skilled Independent 175 visa (offshore)/885 (onshore) This visa is a permanent visa and does not require you to be sponsored by an Australian State. Your occupation should be on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) 1.

Skilled sponsored 176 visa (offshore)/886 (onshore) This visa is a permanent visa which requires you to be sponsored by an Australian State to live and work in that state for 2 years.  Your occupation should be on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) 2.

Skilled Regional Sponsored 475 (offshore)/487 (onshore) This visa is a provisional visa which requires you to be sponsored by an Australian State or Territory or an Australian relative living in Regional Australia.  Your occupation should be on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) 1 if you are sponsored by a relative in Regional Australia.  If you are sponsored by a State or Territory in Regional Australia your occupation should be on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL).
