Update on South Australia State Sponsorship Occupations List
Are you thinking of emigrating to South Australia? Then the below information might be of importance to you.
This article might be relevant to you if you wish to apply or if you are already in a process of applying for the Skilled Migrant, State Sponsored Visa. The changes are relevant to certain occupations only.
The South Australia Government is implementing amendments to its Skilled Occupation List. The List is divided into two schedules: the State Nominated Occupation List and the Supplementary Skilled List. Changes are coming in force on 11th February 2019, except for changes to Teaching occupations, see below.
1. The following occupations have been added to the State Nominated Occupation List:
Metal Fitters and Machinist nec
Butcher or Smallgoods Maker
*Places for sponsorship under those occupations are limited. If emigration to South Australia in on your “do to list” in 2019, you should start your application now.
2. The following occupations on the State Nominated Occupation List will have the “special conditions” requirement removed:
Customer Service Manager
Registered Nurse (Critical Care and Emergency)
Registered Nurse (Medical)
Registered Nurse (Surgical)
Registered Nurse (Paediatrics)
Electrical Engineering Draftsperson
Electrical Engineering Technician
Metal Machinist (First Class)
Family Support Worker
Real Estate Representative
*Places for sponsorship under those occupations are limited. If you are considering a move to South Australia, you should act now.
3. Occupations on the Supplementary List available to offshore applicants:
Primary School Teacher
Program or Project Administrato
4. Teaching occupations – changes with immediate effect:
Early Childhood (Pre-Primary School) Teacher – added to the State Nominated Occupation List
Primary School Teacher – Supplementary List, 489 Visa sponsorship only.
Middle School Teacher – Supplementary List, 489 Visa sponsorship only.
Secondary School Teacher – Supplementary List, 489 Visa sponsorship only.
5. Hairdressers – Australian qualified only – qualifications obtained in other State accepted.
