Australia Visa Points Test

Many skilled visas for Australia operate under a points-based system, which is designed to assess an applicant’s ability to contribute to Australia’s workforce and economy.

The Points Test applies to several General Skilled Migration visas, including:

Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)
Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491)

To be eligible, applicants must achieve at least the current minimum points requirement and meet all other visa criteria. However, achieving the minimum number of points does not guarantee that you will receive an invitation to apply. Invitations are issued based on a range of factors, including your occupation, the number of available places, demand for your skills, and the competitiveness of your points score.
