SkillSelect – February 2019 Invitation Round Results Announced
The Australian Immigration Department has released the details of the SkillSelect invitation round which took place on 11th February 2019.
The number of invitations for the Skilled Migrant Independent Visa, Subclass 189 issued was 1,490. This is a significant drop comparing to 4,340 invitations issued in October and November 2018. The number of invitations issued for subclass 489 remains the same at 10.
In the February round, there were only 32 people invited with 70 points comparing to 848 in January 2019 and 1, 913 in October 2018. It appears prospective applicants are pushed even further to achieve higher points to apply for the Skilled Independent Visa.
For pro-rata occupations, the following scores were required (*EoI date of effect applies):
• Accountants: 85
• Auditors, Company Secretaries and Corporate Treasurers: 80
• Electronics Engineer: 75
• Industrial, Mechanical and Production Engineers: 75
• Other Engineering Professionals: 75
• ICT Business and System Analyst: 75
• Software and Applications Programmers: 75
• Computer Network Professionals: 75
