There is a shortage of skilled migrants in Queensland Australia.  Queensland now seeks skilled migrants for a range of specialist roles. Consequently, there is a new Migration Programme, and the government is offering new opportunities. This means that new roles are offered to skilled workers, graduate students, and business owners.

Who can migrate on a skilled visa?

To migrate to Queensland on a skilled visa, applicants must obtain a nomination from the state.  In fact, you can apply through the Queensland Government. Once applicants have a state nominated visa, they can permanently live and work in the territory.

What are my options?

  • Provisional visa- Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) 

This permits work and study in Queensland for 5 years. So, this visa means you can apply for permanent residence after three years.

  • Skilled Nominated (Permanent) Visa (subclass 190) 

          This permits work and study anywhere in Australia

Are there special conditions?

Indeed, for a Queensland nomination the following applies:

  • Have a points testof 65 or higher
  • Be under 45 of age
  • Meet the minimum English language requirement
  • Meet the skills assessment in your nominated occupation
  • Submit additional documents
