SkillSelect – Australian Skilled Migrant Visa
SkillSelect Invitation Rounds – UPDATE:
The Australian Department of Home Affairs has advised that the SkillSelect invitation rounds for the following Australian Skilled Migrant Visa:
-Skilled Independent (subclass 189)
-Skilled Regional Provisional (subclass 489)
will take place on the 11th day of each month, starting from 11 August 2018. Previously, SkillSelect invitation rounds were held twice a month. The new arrangements will not have an impact on the overall number of invitations issued each month.
The Skilled Independent and Skilled Regional Visa are points tested and prospective applicants require at least 65 points as a minimum score. Having reached the pass mark does not guarantee an invitation due to a very high number of Expression of Interest applications submitted through SkillSelect. Invitation rounds is an automatic system whereby the highest scoring applicants receive an invitation to apply for the Australian Skilled Migrant Visa.The points remain inflated since October 2017 due to high demand and limited Visa places available under the Australian Skilled Migrant Visa Program.
