Sammy Naghi answers questions from the emigrate 2012 show London
Have you noticed an increase in the number of enquiries from people wanting to emigrate to Australia since the start of 2012?
Our company has seen a 500% increase in enquires compared to same period last year. It seems everybody we have spoken to over the past few years has decided 2012 is the year to make the move down under and we welcome any new enquires and look forward to helping many other families fulfil their dream.
What do you think might be the reason for this and do you believe that SkillSelect, the new processing system due to be implemented on 1 July 2012, is a key factor driving people?
I think SkillsSlect is a contributing factor but more importantly is the current state of the UK economy (high unemployment and low growth) which has been getting worse and worse over the past few years. The strength of the Australian economy which is offering low unemployment and the growth in many States make it very appealing to would be migrants.
Are there are any particular skill sectors you have noticed that are more prevalent than others?
Construction, Engineers, Health & IT are always the key sectors. But the door is open across the board.
What would be your advice to a potential Australian migrant - lodge an application now before the rules change?
Yes we always advise people to lodge now as the current system is known and familiar. There is no doubt the new system with the implementation of the EOI is going to be an extra hurdle for migrants so if you are thinking about emigrating to Australia, now is a good time and jump in and go for it.
Finally are there really as many job opportunities in Australia currently as we are lead to believe?
Yes definitely and there is definitely a huge shortage of skilled migrants. Particularly in states like Western Australia with all the mining and construction in progress and in the pipeline, there really is a many jobs and opportunities across many industries. Smaller States like the Australian Capital Territory are also in need of many skilled migrants as well.

When Mick and I started this journey I looked at several solicitors dealing in immigration.
When you rang me to follow up our inquiry my gut feeling was to engage your services, the rest is history.
To us you have become a friend as well as our Immigration solicitor/adviser, being there for us every step of the way, through laughter, stress and yes the tears, you've been there!!
For that we sincerely thank you.
