If you are looking to apply for Nursing or Midwifery Registration with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (AHPRA), you have till 21st February 2020 to post your registration application.

Applications posted after that date will not be accepted until the new assessment model is implemented in March 2020.

The new assessment model will be based on the current qualification criteria, including :

  1. qualifications comparable to a minimum an Australian Bachelor Degree at level 7.
  2. qualification recognised by a statutory registration/licensing body for registration.
  3. qualification was subject to quality assurance and recognised or accredited by a body external to the education institution and based on published accreditation standards.

In addition, applicants will be required to meet other requirements such as recency of practice, English language standards and character criteria.

The new assessment model will see an introduction of orientation program and clinical exams for those with qualifications not substantially equivalent to the Australian standard nursing qualifications.
