Australian Visa Fee – Visa Application Fee Increase

New Visa application fee from 1st July 2019

 

The Australian Immigration Department has announced an increase in Visa application charges from 1st July 2019. The 5.4% increase will apply to all Visa subclasses except for the Tourist Visa, Subclass 600. There will be no increase in second instalment VACs, which is good news for certain Parent visa applicants.

The new fee will apply to applications lodged on or after 1st July 2019, including Skilled Migration and Partner Visa applications.

The new Australian Visa Fee schedule estimate:

Skilled Migrant Visa: subclasses: 189, 190, 489

Main applicant: $3,957 (current fee: $3,755)
Spouse/Partner: $1,976 (current fee: $1,875)
Child under the age of 18: $992 (current fee: $940)

Spouse/Partner/Prospective Marriage Visa: subclasses 309/820, 100/801 and 300

Main applicant: $7,546 (current fee: $7,160)
Child under the age of 18: $1,890 (current fee: $1,795)

Contributory Parent visa: subclass 143

Main applicant: $4,063 (current fee: $3,855)
Partner/Spouse: $1,370 (current fee: $1,300)

Contributory Parent visa: subclass 173

Main applicant: $2,736 (current fee: $3,855)
Partner/Spouse: $1,370 (current fee: $1,300)

According to the new budget, the Government will reduce the planning level of the Migration program from 190,000 to 160,000 places for the next 4 years. In the new financial year commencing on 1st July in Australia, there will be 108,682 Visa places in the Skill Migrant steam and 47,732 places in the Family Visa stream.
