Australian Visa & SkillSelect – September 2019 Invitation Round Results
To apply for the Australian Visa (Skilled Independent) and Skilled Regional Family Sponsored visa applicants must meet the basic pass mark of 65 points. Prospective applicants must be invited by the Australian Department of Home Affairs to apply for the Visa. With the Australian Government allocating 18,652 Visa places in the current 2019-2020 financial year, the demand for Visas is even higher and places limited. Only the highest scoring applicants are selected and invited to apply for the Visa.
The Australian Immigration Department has released the results of the latest SkillSelect invitation round which took place on 11th September 2019.
The results are very similar to the previous round in August with the total number of 200 applicants being invited to apply. In the September round 100 invitations were issued for applicants for the 189 Visa and 100 invitations were issued to those wishing to apply for the Skilled-Regional (Provisional *family) Sponsored Visa.
Prospective applicants wanting to apply for the Australian Visa 189 (Skilled Independent) required at least 85 to be selected, however only 39 people received an invitation. The remaining invitees were “sitting” on 90 points and above. The current points arrangements appears to be benefiting mostly graduates who studied in Australia and who are now working in Australia which would attract extra points.
The points required for some pro-rata occupations appear to have gone up for certain occupations comparing to the previous month, including Accountants (95), Other Engineering Professionals (95 points – 189 Visa), ICT Business and System Analysts (90 points- 189 Visa), Computer Network Professionals (85 points – 189 Visa). *EoI date of effect applies.
There are other Visa options such as Skilled Migrant State Sponsored Visa and Regional State Sponsored Visa. Applicants for those Visas require 65 points.
