SkillSelect – 11 July 2019 Invitation Round Results

The Australian Immigration Department has released the details of the latest SkillSelect invitation round which took place on 11th July 2019.

The total number of 1000 applicants were invited to apply for the 189 Visa and 100 were invited to apply for the Skilled-Regional (Provisional *family) Sponsored Visa.

There has been a noticeable increase in the number of applicants selected to apply for the 189 and 489 Visas comparing to the previous months with only 59 applicants selected for the 189 visa in the June selection round. The points required for an invitation went down from 85 to 80.

In the most recent July 2019 round 775 applicants sitting on 80 points were invited to apply for the 189 Visa and 25 applicants on the same points score were invited to apply for the Skilled-Regional ( Provisional *family) sponsored visa. Those would have been applicants who submitted their Expression of Interest after 13th May 2019.

The points required for pro-rata occupations appear to have gone down as follow: (*EoI date of effect applies):

Accountants: 85
Auditors, Company Secretaries and Corporate Treasurers: 85
Electronics Engineer: 80
Industrial, Mechanical and Production Engineers: 80
Other Engineering Professionals: 80

The next invitation round is due to take place on 11th August though the exact date is yet to be confirmed. Whether the points will go down further to 75 remains unknown until the next SkillSelect selection round is announced.
